Dr. Christian G. Nunn, DDS
For more than 25 years, Dr. Chris Nunn has been proud to serve the Conroe and Montgomery County community, providing state-of-the-art family and cosmetic dentistry. A true hometown dentist, Dr. Nunn was born in Fort Worth and raised in Conroe, Texas. He graduated from Conroe High School (‘87), earned a degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University (‘92), and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from The University of Texas Dental School in Houston (‘97).
Before dental school, Dr. Nunn worked with a cancer research team in The Woodlands, Texas. He and his twin brother, Clay, pursued careers in dentistry, graduating from college and dental school together. Today, both own successful private practices and continue to live near one another in Montgomery, Texas.
In 1997, Dr. Nunn returned to his hometown of Conroe and joined the established practice of Dr. Jerry Herrington, where they provided general and cosmetic dentistry together for 20 years. Following Dr. Herrington’s retirement, Dr. Elena Morrell joined the practice. Together at Nunn & Morrell Dentistry, they bring more than 40 years of combined experience in comprehensive dental care.
Committed to clinical excellence, Dr. Nunn has completed extensive post-graduate education in complex restorative and aesthetic dentistry through the Kois Center in Seattle, and the Aesthetic Restorative Continuum at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas under Dr. Steve Cutbirth. He stays at the forefront of modern dental technology through advanced training at Spear Education and CDOCS in Charlotte, NC and Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. Nunn is an active member of the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association.
With advanced training and years of clinical experience, Dr. Nunn offers a full range of comprehensive dental services, including cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, restorations, TMJ therapy, Invisalign®, conscious sedation, laser dentistry, and CEREC® same-day crowns.
Dr. Nunn and his wife, Shannon, both graduates of Conroe High School and Texas A&M University, have been married for more than 30 years and made Lake Conroe their forever home. Shannon, a former teacher and school principal at Sam Houston Elementary, now supports the practice behind the scenes, assisting with office design, operations, and accounting. They raised their two sons, Alex and Garrison, in Montgomery. Alex, a Texas A&M graduate (‘22), is currently a dental student at The University of Texas Dental School in Houston (‘26), following in his dad’s footsteps. Garrison is pursuing his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Belmont College of Pharmacy (‘27) and also following his passion for music as a singer/songwriter in Nashville, TN.
Outside the office, Dr. Nunn enjoys time with family and friends, Aggie football, traveling, and live music. He stays active through exercise, boating on Lake Conroe, and hunting and fishing across Texas.
Dr. Nunn takes great pride in practicing dentistry in his hometown and values the long-lasting relationships he builds with his patients.
Dr. Elena Morrell, DDS
Dr. Elena Morrell has been a cherished member of our team since joining the practice in 2017, and we're proud to have her as a partner at Nunn & Morrell Dentistry since 2020. With a passion for helping patients achieve their best smiles and overall health, she brings warmth, expertise, and a genuine caring touch to every visit.
Dr. Morrell earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Texas A&M University before pursuing her dental education at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. During her time there, she dedicated herself to giving back through Christian Medical Mission Trips to border towns and mentored underclassmen in Dental Anatomy and Restorative Dentistry. She graduated with honors, receiving the Outstanding Senior Dental Student Award and the Award for Excellence in Clinical Dentistry. To further hone her skills, she completed an additional year of advanced training in General Dentistry at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Bay Pines, Florida. This comprehensive residency equipped her to provide exceptional care across a wide range of services, including cosmetic dentistry, same-day crowns, fixed and removable prosthodontics, surgical placement of dental implants, and orthodontic treatments with clear aligners as a licensed SureSmile provider.
Beyond her clinical expertise, Dr. Morrell is deeply committed to holistic health and wellness. She invests her personal time in exploring the body's overall well-being, approaching patient care with a natural, whole-person perspective that prioritizes your comfort and long-term health.
As an active member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Morrell stays at the forefront of her field by participating in the local Spear Dental Study Club. There, she connects with fellow professionals monthly to expand her knowledge through continuing education, ensuring she brings the latest advancements to our patients.
When she's not in the office, Dr. Morrell treasures time with her family. She and her husband love staying active through workouts, whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen, exploring new travel destinations, and enjoying the great outdoors. They're the proud parents of two energetic sons, Alexander and Max, who share a passion for sports—especially basketball and football.
